“Like the lotus flower, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and radiate to the world.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
Life doesn't always change gradually — sometimes it arrives all at once, in the form of a relationship ending, children leaving home, a career chapter closing, or simply the quiet realization that the person you've been may not be the person you're becoming. These crossroads matter — not just because change is hard, but because they shape who we become next. Divorce, breakups, empty nest, retirement, midlife reckonings, or the vulnerable threshold of early adulthood — these are not just disruptions to get through. They are defining moments. And without grounding and support, it's easy to drift into patterns and choices that don't reflect your truest self — numbing, withdrawing, settling, or simply going through the motions of a life that no longer fits.
Together, we do more than navigate transition — we use it as an invitation to grow into someone more whole, more aligned, more authentically you. At Compassionate Lotus Counseling, you don't have to cross this threshold alone.
This is the alchemy of therapeutic work: turning struggle into wisdom, loss into clarity, and uncertainty into purpose.
You are not broken. You are becoming.
About My Approach
My work is grounded in neuroscience — a deep understanding of how the brain and nervous system shape our patterns, our pain, and our profound capacity to heal and grow. I bring a strength-based, trauma-informed lens to every session, and I draw on a range of evidence-informed modalities tailored to where you are and what you need.
These include Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for processing difficult memories and experiences, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you clarify your values and move toward the life that matters to you, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping to gently release what the body has been holding. I integrate Polyvagal Theory to support nervous system awareness and regulation — helping you understand why you respond the way you do, and how to find your way back to safety and groundedness. Mindfulness-Based therapies and Mindful Movement practices such as QiGong offer pathways to reconnect with your body not just as the place where stress lives, but as a resource — a guide back to yourself.
